Say No To NARCOTICS

A suspected drug courier was arrested in an operation on 20 January 2010. Approximately 1.4kg of heroin no. 3 and 200 ‘Erimin 5’ tablets with a total street value of more than S$215,000 were seized. One motor vehicle was also seized.
On 20 January 2010, after receiving information that a Singaporean Chinese male will be bringing in a drug consignment from his supplier based in a neighbouring country, CNB immediately launched an operation.
At about 2300 hours the same day, CNB officers stopped the suspect’s car which was entering Woodlands Checkpoint. Officers seized a total of 1.4kg of heroin no. 3, and 200 ‘Erimin-5’ tablets from the vehicle.
The 23-year-old male was arrested on the spot.
He is being investigated for importation of controlled drugs under the Misuse of Drugs Act. If convicted, he may face the death penalty.
